Jadranka Mijatović

I was born in 1966 in non doggy family. The reason why I wanted to have a dog since I remember and why I was keep asking my parents to get me one I can find maybe in the fact that I was the only child in the family and I found the dog the perfect companions for me. My first dog ever came when I was almost 17 years old and that was not the pure bred dog, but however was my first companion…Later on came also the first pure bred, Dalmatian female, but my parents haven’t shared my passion…so I decided I will have the dog when I will be on my own…3 years later I was introduced by one mutual friend to already very successful Rough Collie breeder and pretty soon I was the new owner a Rough Collie female and co owner of a male, together with my ex-boyfriend. The breeder was Denis Sabolic (DENNISAY’S Collies), who was “only” the breeder of my first Collies at that time and who became my mentor, my friend and my partner later on. By the time of writing Denis and me are breeding (Dennisay’s-Geantles Collie) & living together for 27 years with 15 dogs and our two 6 year old twin boys, Filip & Aleksandar. During the years we have bred and/or owned over 100 Champions in all three colors and both sexes including International, WORLD & EURO Champions. Our Collies were TOP DOGS 22 times, 18 years in a row… I have started very early with showing dogs and the mentioned male, my first Rough Collie, MULTI CH. Dennisay’s Forgery, became one of TOP Collies in ex Yugoslavia. Together with Denis we were the first handlers in the country and a part of a small int. group of 4 pro handlers, who were pioneers in that profession in Europe and for 7 years I was showing dogs professionally with the great success, winning numerous TOP DOGS in their breeds, Groups and BIS winners all over the Europe. I have been one of the founders of the British Sheepdog Club Zagreb and a member of the Board for 5 years & President of the Breeding Committee. During this time, that was the second biggest breed Club in Croatia with over 150 members. Today I am in the Board of our local KC near Zagreb, where we live now. I have been involved in organization of a couple National and International shows during the time with the great success. Both Denis and me are holders of GOLDEN MEDAL, the highest award in Croatian Kennel Club for our breeding & showing achievements and the contribution in Croatian cynology. I became a Dog show judge in 1993. My first licensed breeds were British Sheepdogs. 10 years later I have finished the FCI Group I and FCI Group V. Today I am International FCI judge for FCI Group I, IV, V, IX and X with some additional breeds in the group II, III and VI. During these 23 years I judged in 22 countries, also Collie National in Melbourne,  Australia, which was a great honor for me as a breeder. I am glad and honored that as a judge I have some additional countries and Continents in my Schedule ahead… Photography is my another passion and the last year was 20 years of DEYA PHOTOGRAPHY which became World Known Brand & Synonymous for dog and cat photography – our photos can be found at all the continents in numerous Magazines, books, coverings, adverts and one of them even found its place on official pedigree form of Croatian Kennel Club for a couple of years. I have been also Assistant Editor of Croatian Kennel Club Magazine “Moj Pas”, Art director of some other Magazines and owner & Editor of DogVision Magazine, previous DEYA Photography Catalogue, since 2007. We have been official photographers at many Nat. & Int., 3 World and 2 European dog Shows so far.
